Myspace is all about empowering the artist – we are doing our best to create the tools, environment, and platform to easily upload, share, and connect with your fan base. One of the tools we have available is FanReach - with it, you can notify your fans in mass of upcoming events or other important messages you wish to share directly with each of your fans.

Below are a few common questions and their respective answers:

What is FanReach?

FanReach is an email marketing solution tailored to artists' needs. Artists can and should still use Myspace mail to connect with their friends, but use FanReach as their primary fan management and email marketing tool. FanReach is available in two versions, the free version of FanReach and FanReach Pro, which differ by the following:
  • FanReach Free is only available for lists up to 500 contacts. If you have more than 500 contacts, you will need FanReach pro
  • ReverbNation sometimes offers Free Trials of FanReach Pro. It should be noted that if you are on a free trial, it will make templates, etc., available to you, but not increase your contact limit. ReverbNation would hate to take back any of your contacts if you decided against using the service
  • FanReach Pro comes with more templates, more customization, as well as the Fan360 service - which can help you find out more information about your fans
  • Read more about all the features of FanReach Pro

How do I collect fan emails with FanReach?

  1. Click on Artist (in the top navigation bar) and click FanReach
  2. Click Widgets (on the left)
  3. Modify the body and text color to give your widget the look you want
  4. Copy the code and place it on your website, blog or even HTML Module on your Myspace profile

How do I edit a FanReach contact’s email address?

The Internet CAN-SPAM Act, which we strictly follow, requires each individual email address to opt-in to receiving mail from a mailing list. You must first remove the current email address, and then invite the new email address to join your list.

We realize this is a bit cumbersome. However, if we allowed email addresses to just be edited, it could open the door to easily confirm legit addresses and then edit them for the purpose of spamming. We are not accusing you of this, however, just letting you in on a bit of the reasoning behind the process.

To remove a contact from your list in Myspace, visit Contacts, then select the email in question and choose unsubscribe selected. Then go to Import New Contacts and submit the correct email address.

To remove a contact from your list in ReverbNation, visit the Control Room -> FanReach -> Manage Contacts area of your profile. Filter out the email in question, and choose Remove Selected from the More Actions drop down menu. Once you have removed the old mail, go to the Add Contacts section, copy your invite link (Step 2) and mail it to the new address so the fan may re-sign up.

  8. Decide if you want to send the message right away, or at a specific time in the future. FanReach Pro is required to allow you to set a specific date
  9. Click to send or schedule the message
